This week we’re delighted to launch Gumtree’s new TV campaign, reminding Gumtree fans how easy it is to buy and sell on our site or mobile apps. Inspired by the 1979 hit ‘Reasons to be Cheerful’ by Ian Dury and the Blockheads, our new 30-second TV ad features a huge range of the products available on our site, ending with the line ‘Reasons to use Gumtree, 1,2,3’, a reference to the three point process ‘Snap. Click. Kerching,’ – a neat little summary of how you take a photo, post your ad onto Gumtree and make some cash.

“We’ve been talking to lots of users recently and we know that they love Gumtree for its simplicity – you can always find a great deal locally, or make money selling your items to one of the millions of buyers. We want the ads to show everyone exactly how easy it is to buy and sell on Gumtree”
This new campaign comes hot on the heels of our successful run as sponsors of Celebrity Big Brother on Channel 5. All the funny talking furniture ads, as well as the new one were created by Gumtree’s creative agency, Fold7, with clever media planning and buying by the7stars.
As well as TV adverts Gumtree has worked with veteran easy-listening radio DJ Tony Blackburn to be the voice of our radio ads airing nationally from 16th February.
An outdoor poster campaign also kicks off next week, and you’ll see it on roadside posters and digital screens in UK shopping centres. Londoners will also see the campaign across the South East Trains network, and in London Underground tube carriages.
