Celebrity Big Brother sale – all proceeds to be donated to homelessness charity CrisisFriday 23 January 2015, by The Media Team
This year’s Celebrity Big Brother House is jam-packed with amazing furniture and unique decorative items and Gumtree has played an important part in furnishing the CBB House this year. We provided the show’s Art Directors with several key pieces that we think complement think this year’s Twisted Fairytale theme perfectly. Now we’re giving you the chance to buy your very own piece of Celebrity Big Brother history by putting a selection of amazing items from the CBB House up for sale.
The items on the show include a gorgeous red and black dining table, a luxurious, velveteen grey living room sofa, as well as a selection of smaller items including a charming dog statuette, a large swirl mirror and glass coffee table. The proceeds of the sale will go to the homelessness charity Crisis.
As the drama in the Celebrity Big Brother house plays out it’s important to remember those who find themselves struggling with homelessness. When we were looking for a partner to work with, we wanted to make sure that all the benefits went to an organisation looking after those less fortunate to us – especially those without a house to call home.
A roof over our heads, considered a basic human right for the lucky majority is something that, sadly, many are unable take for granted.
As John Sparkes, Chief Executive of Crisis UK points out, homelessness is a serious issue that deserves our support:
“Homelessness is a devastating experience; it is an isolating and frightening experience and homeless people are too often invisible, ignored and forgotten. Every year Crisis helps thousands of people to rebuild their lives, through our education, employment, health and housing services. We really appreciate the public’s support in helping to fund our work and campaigning with us to make sure homelessness is never ignored.”
Gumtree is proud to offer the proceeds from the sale to Crisis UK and support the valuable work the charity does highlighting the plight of the UKs homeless and helping people to rebuild their lives.
Sam Diamond, Head of Brand and Comms at Gumtree.com commented:
“The work Crisis is doing for homeless people in the UK is invaluable and we are proud to be donating all proceeds from the sale of the Celebrity Big Brother items to support their cause.”
